About this recipe: Make this quick and easy dish for a tasty weekday meal or a dinner party starter.

Serves: 4 

  • 500g chicken mince
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 1 green chilli, finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, bruised and finely chopped
  • 3 - 4 tablespoons bread crumbs
  • Handful of fresh coriander leaves, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • Salt as per taste
  • 4 tablespoons oil (Any variety works)
  • Chaat masala

  1. Mix all the ingredients, except the oil in a bowl. Make sure that the mixture is even and the bread crumbs are mixed well.
  2. Oil your palms and a tray.
  3. Make round tikkis that are about 3 inches in diameter and place on the oiled tray.
  4. Heat the oil in a flat pan and fry the tikkis on very low heat, about ten minutes on each side or untill cooked. Sprinkle some chaat masala over your tikkis.
  5. To serve this as a meal, serve the tikkis with a refreshing cucumber salad, mint youghurt and a soft roti. If you are serving them at a dinner party, a tangy mint chutney would be the best accompaniment to get your guests to love the tikkis.
