About this recipe: Pesarratu is Very quickly prepared with left out dosa batter.Green gram is used as a digestive, nutritive and aperient. It is good for pregnancy and breast feeding women, as well as children. Eating green gram regularly increases lactation, helps one to get the required nutrition and promotes well being.Since Green gram are nutritive we prepare Delicious and crispy Pesarratu from it.

Serves: 4 

  • 3/4 cup Green Gram dal
  • 1/2 cup Idli/Dosa Batter
  • 1 tsp jeera (cumin seeds)
  • 3 green chillies
  • 5 spring onion
  • 2 chopped onion
  • 1/2 tsp ginger
  • salt to taste

Prep:10min  ›  Cook:15min  ›  Extra time:5hr soaking  ›  Ready in:5hr25min 

  1. Soak green gram 4 to 5 hours or overnight.
  2. Grind green gram,Jeera,green chillies,ginger,spring onions in a blender.Take a mixing bowl add Dosa batter, salt and ground green gram together.
  3. Pour dosa like normal dosa. Drizzle some oil. Sprinkle some onions upon it, then onion will stick to batter, later flip the dosa when one side is cooked.
  4. when both sides are cooked remove from tawa and serve hot. It goes very well with onion chutney, coriander chutney and coconut chutney,ginger chutney


Note:Fermentation Not necessary.
