About this recipe: So do you love to eat pizza but visiting every time to your favorite pizza joint somehow becomes a hectic task? Here is an easy to cook recipe of vegetable pizza that you can easily bake at your home.

  • 2.5 to 3 cups of all purpose flour/maida
  • 1 cup of lukewarm water
  • 2 tsp of dry yeast
  • ¼ tsp of sugar or ¼ tsp of honey
  • 2 tbsp of olive oil
  • ½ tsp of salt
  • Olive oil for brushing
  • Flour, corn meal or semolina for sprinkling
  • 4 to 5 tomatoes
  • 2 to 3 garlic
  • 2 tbsp of olive oil
  • 2 tbsp of red wine (optional)
  • 2 tsp of dried basil or 2 tbsp of fresh basil
  • 1 tsp of dried oregano
  • Freshly crushed or ground black pepper
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 capsicum or bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 tomato (optional)
  • 8-9 pitted green olives, sliced
  • 8-9 pitted black olives, sliced
  • Mozzarella cheese, grated, as per your requirement
  • Fresh or dried herbs


  1. Sprinkle some sugar in the lukewarm water
  2. Add the yeast and stir it for some time. Let the mixture settle down in room temperature for 10 to 15 minutes till it becomes a little frothy.
  3. Take a bowl, add one cup of flour, salt and olive oil in it and then add the frothy mixture of yeast.
  4. Stir and then add one cup of flour
  5. Stir again until the mixture becomes sticky
  6. Add the last cup of flour and then continue to stir
  7. Knead the dough into a very smooth and springy ball
  8. Cover the dough loosely and keep it in a large bowl at room temperature for almost 2 hours
  9. You will notice that the dough will double up
  10. Blanch the tomatoes and then finely chop them
  11. Heat oil. Fry the finely chopped garlic until golden
  12. Add tomatoes and wine to the oil
  13. Let them simmer for 4 to 5 minutes. Do not cover them
  14. Add the herbs, pepper and salt to taste
  15. Mix it well and then cook it again for another 3 to 4 minutes
  16. Flatten the dough to the shape of a disk
  17. Roll the dough on a floured surface
  18. Grease and dust a pizza pan
  19. Place the flattened dough on the same pan
  20. Brush some olive oil on the pizza base
  21. Spread the tomato sauce you prepared on the pizza
  22. Top it up with veggies of your choice. Remember not to overdo it
  23. Spread the grated mozzarella cheese
  24. Bake the veg-pizza in a preheated oven for 10 to 15 minutes at 200 degrees Celsius
  25. Serve the yummy and delicious pizzas hot


To get tastier flavors why not try two or three different types of cheese grated on top of your pizza.
