    About this recipe: Stuffed capsicum(Bharvan Mirch or Bharva Hari Mirch) is one of several stuffed vegetable (Bharvan subji) dishes. It consists of bell capsicumstuffed with cooked meat, potatoes, onions, seasoned with chili, turmeric, coriander, cilantro, salt and lemon juice.     Ingredients

    • Green capsicums 4-5
    • Potatoes,boiled and mashed 3 medium
    • Dry mango powder (amchur) 2 tsp
    • Red chilli powder 1/2 tsp
    • Cumin 1 tsp
    • Garam masala powder 1 tsp
    • Fresh coriander leaves,finely chopped a few sprigs
    • Salt to taste
    • Oil 2 tbsp
    • Onion ,chopped 1 large
    • Green chillies,chopped 3
    • Green peas 1/2 cup
    • turmeric powder 1/2 tsp

    Directions

    1. Wash the green capsicums well and pat dry with paper towel. Slice off thinly from the tops of the green capsicums and remove seeds to make them hollow.Keep all cleaned capsicum aside for later use.
    2. Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seed cook till spluttering stopsthen add onion. Cook till translucent and then add green chillies .
    3. Now add all the powdered spices and fry for 1 minute.
    4. Add the mashed potato ,green peas and mix well to blend with all the spices. Cook for 2 minutes, stirring often.
    5. Add salt to taste and dry mango powder mix well.Turn off the fire.
    6. Fill each green pepper to the top with the mashed potato mix. Press down and top up to ensure they are well filled.
    7. Heat the remaining cooking oil in a shallow pan on a low flame. When hot add the capsicum (standing up) and fry till soft.
    8. Gently turn the capsicum over onto their tops so that the potato can fry. Fry till golden. Turn off fire.
    9. Garnish with green coriander leaves.
