Chicken Saag

About this recipe: This is an easy and quick recipe I make for my husband and he enjoys it!

Ingredients
Serves: 2 

  • 1/2 lb chicken breast(boneless)
  • 1 cup spinach finely chopped
  • 1 tsp tomatoe paste
  • 1 onion finely chopped
  • 2 tsp sour cream or yoghurt
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/4 tsp garam masala
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1/2 stick cinnamon stick
  • 1/2 cup skim milk
  • 1 inch ginger minced
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 2 tsp vegetable oil
  • 1 whole dry red pepper
  • salt to taste

Directions
Prep:10min  ›  Cook:20min  ›  Ready in:30min 

  1. Saute the onions in oil for 2 mins till light brown.
  2. Add the chicken and the masalas and saute for 5 mins.
  3. Add the spinach and saute for 2 mins.
  4. Add the sour cream and saute for 1 min.
  5. Add the skim milk,mix and cover with a lid and let it simmer for 10 mins.
  6. Serve with rice or roti.

Serving suggestion

It tastes good with garlic naans.
