    About this recipe: Sabudana vada is a deep fried snack which can be prepared for any occasion and also as a snack with coffee. I love sabudana (sago) a filling carbohydrate. We can prepare upma, vada, kichidi, sweet with sago.

    Serves: 4 

    • 250 gms sago
    • 4 numbers potatoes
    • 1 spoon Ginger grated
    • 1 small bunch corriander leaves
    • oil for deep fry
    • 10 green chillies mashed
    • 2 spoons cumin seeds
    • 1 spoon salt - according to taste
    • 2 spoons corn flour for better binding
    • 1 string curry leaves cut into small pieces
    • 1 pinch hing or asefotida

    1. soak sago for 1 hour in a bowl. immerse sago just with little amount of water so that its not soaked too much Keep sprinkling water every 15 mins. In two hours sago is softened and soaked.
    2. Boil potatoes in a pressure cooker or microwave whichever you feel is convenient. once cooked, remove the skin of potato and mash the same.
    3. mix softened sago, mashed potato, cumi seeds, salt, green chiilies mashed , corn flour, corriander leaves, curry leaves and hing.
    4. keep the oil in kadai and allow to get heated.
    5. once the mix is ready, take lemon sized mixture and pat like vada or you can roll in any shape you like, deep fry in oil.
    6. fry in low flame once oil is heated up. remove when golden brown. Sabudana vada is ready to be served and consumed !!!

    Serving suggestion

    serve with green chutney or tomato sause
