Rajasthani Daal dhokli

    This is one pan recipe. Easy to make, tastes wonderful with lots of lemon juice and roasted papad.

    Serves: 4 

    • For Daal
    • 1 cup split green moong daal
    • 1/2 cup chana daal
    • 2 tablespoon oil
    • 1/4 teaspoon hing
    • 1 medium onion
    • 4 clove garlic (chopped)
    • 1 teaspoon red chilli powder
    • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
    • 1 teaspoon garam masala
    • Salt to taste
    • For dhokli
    • 1/2 cup wheat flour (atta)
    • 2 teaspoon coriander seed (dhaniya)
    • 1 teaspoon red chilli powder
    • 1 teaspoon oil or ghee
    • Salt to taste
    • Water for kneading

    1. Mix all the ingredients and knead them, make dough balls from the mix. Flatten balls into disc shape and make a hole in the center, keep these dhoklis aside.
    2. Mix and boil both daals together.
    3. Heat oil in a pan, add hing to it, and saute onion and garlic for a minute. Add red chilli powder, turmeric, salt and garam masala to it. Mix daal in it. Add water and bring it to boil.
    4. Put dhoklis one by one in boiling daal, let it cook till dhoklis are done. Garnish it with coriander leaves and serve in soup bowls.
