Makes: 3 to 4 dozen cookies

    • 200g caster sugar (and a little sprinkle for good luck)
    • 100g light brown sugar
    • 250g plain flour
    • 1 teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda
    • 1/4 teaspoon of salt
    • 125g Smarties candy
    • 50g chocolate chips or buttons
    • 2 eggs
    • 150g margarine or butter

    Prep:15min  ›  Cook:10min  ›  Ready in:25min

    1. Mix up all the dry ingredients into a bowl, sieve the flour, so it's nice and fine.. and add in the choc chips and Smarties into the mix too.
    2. Now would be a nice time to go ahead and preheat the oven, to 180 C.
    3. Next add in the margarine or butter, cut it up into smallish chunks as you are adding it in, makes it much easier to beat it all up smooth. And then add in the eggs.
    4. Now you can beat it all up nicely, but do it BY HAND, cause otherwise you are gonna crack up the Smarties, and you don't want that.
    5. Drop by heaped teaspoons onto an ungreased baking tray... or if you wanna make REALLY BIG ones, heap some tablespoons instead. make sure to keep them nice and far apart on the baking tray though, they spread out a lot and you can get them all blobbing together. If that happens don't worry about it though, they can be separated easily with a knife.
    6. Then, pop them in your now nicely preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes, the edges should be nice and browned.
    7. When they are done, let them cool for a minute on the baking tray, then cool on a rack. Mind not to burn your fingers. Enjoy!
