About this recipe:
Crab Masala is a delicious dish. This can be made spicy by adding more pepper. In case if you are making it spicy and most of the time it gonna be more spicy as we think. In that case, no worries, Just add some coconut milk when you are about to turn of the stove. Best combination is with chappati, appam and breads.
1 kg fresh crab
2 tbs chilli powder
1 1/2 tbsp coriander powder
1 tbsp chopped garlic
1 tbsp chopped ginger
3 large onions thinly sliced
1 tsp meat masala
1 tsp pepper powder
3 large tomatoes chopped
8 tsp coconut oil
3 green chilies slit open
salt enough to taste
10 curry leaves
Clean 1Kg of crab and keep it for sometime to get the water completely dried out - 5 Minutes or so. Clean the crab by detaching the legs and cut it into two piece from center.
heat 3 tsp of coconut oil in a kadai and add 1/4 tsp mustard seeds
Add chopped garlic and ginger to the kadai and saute
When you think that raw smell of garlic and ginger is no more, add finely chopped onions & green chilies to Kadai. Statue it well until it becomes golden brown.
Add tomatoes to the kadai and let it cook.
Add Chill coriander, meat masala to the kadai and stir it for 5 minutes.
Add 1/2 water to it and stir together.
Add crab to kadai and mix everything together.
Keep the stove on low flame and close it with a lid. Make sure to stir it with an interval of 10 minutes. If you feel that water is less and is getting dried, please add little bit of water to it.
