About this recipe: Great any time of the day, scones are best served with jam and served with dopehar ki chai.

Stoned Again

Serves: 10 

  • 225g self-raising flour, plus extra for dusting
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 25g caster sugar
  • 25g butter, diced (plus extra for greasing)
  • 150ml milk

  1. Mix the flour, salt and sugar together in a bowl. Add butter and using the rubbing in method mix into the flour until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.
  2. Add the milk a little at at time until dough is moist but not sticky.
  3. Turn out on to a well floured board and roll out to about 1cm (1/2") thick.
  4. Place on a well greased backing tray and bake at 220 C for about 12 to 14 minutes. Allow to cool slightly on a wire cooling rack.
