Khichdi by adding some Desi Tadka


    Some people dont like the boil khichidi and like to enjoy with some masala and tadka. So the below receipe is a simple roasted khichdi.

    • 1 or 2 bowls of khichdi( made of mixture of Green dal, rice)
    • 2 onion ( minute sliced )
    • 2-3 green chillies
    • 1 cup of coriander leaves
    • 1/2 teaspoon jeera
    • 4 to 5 garlic minute grated
    • 1/2 piece of Ginger
    • 1/2 teaspoon of Red chilli
    • 1 teaspoon of Turmeric
    • Salt as per the taste
    • 1/4 bowl of water


    1. ake a kadai, add 2 spoons of oil, add 1/2 teaspoon of jeera, add 1 cup of minute sliced onions, 2 green chillies,1/2 piece of ginger minute grated, 3to 4 garlic pieces
    2. Once the onions are in golden brown then add the masalas like salt as per the taste, 1/2 tea spoon of red chillies and 1 teaspoon of haldi.
    3. oast the masala well, now pour the khichdi ( left over khichdi) and mix it well with the mixture , add little water so that it gets little stablized.
    4. Keep the flame low under for few minutes. Place the khichdi in a small bowl and add 1 cup of coriander leaves for garnishing and it is ready to be served.
