Tasty Thai Chicken Biriyani Recipe

    Ingredients

    • Basmati rice - 2 cups
    • Chicken pieces cut to bite size -500 gms
    • Fish sauce - to taste
    • Tamarind water – 250 ml
    • Jaggery- 250 gms
    • Dabur Hommade Coconut Milk.(3 pkts )- 450 ml
    • Dabur Hommade Coconut Milk.(3 pkts )- 450 ml
    • Fried onions(browned) - 1 cup
    • Basil leaves one cup
    • Potatoes – 2 nos
    • Dry red chillies(Sukhilalmirch) – 10 -12
    • Galangal/ (Thai ginger) – 3 tbsp, finely chopped
    • Shallots – 1 cup
    • Garlic cloves – 200 gms
    • Lemongrass– 3 finely chopped / 1 cup
    • Cardamom pods – 10,peeled
    • Star anise – 2
    • Cinnamon (sticks) – 2
    • Coriander seeds – 5 tbsp
    • Cumin seeds – 1 ½ tsp
    • Cloves – 5
    • Ginger (1 inch) pod
    • Kaffir lime leaves 6

    Directions

    1. Wash the rice in a sieve and add enough water and one packet Dabur Hommade Coconut Milk to fully cover the rice - at least 4' over the surface of the rice.
    2. Add salt to taste.Add few pieces of galangal, lemon grass stocks, kaffir lime leaves.
    3. Set the rice up to boil. Cook till almost done.
    4. To determine if the rice is properly cooked or not, remove a few grains from the pot and press between your thumb and forefinger. The rice should mostly mash but will have a firm whitish core.
    5. Turn off the fire. Strain through a colander and keep the drained rice aside.
    6. Grind all the spices (Ingredients for the paste) to make a paste.
    7. Add two spoons Dabur Hommade Coconut Milk in a frying pan and add all the paste in it and cook for at least 10 minutes.
    8. Then add the chicken pieces and the potatoes in the pan along with the paste and cook for 45 minutes.
    9. Add the remaining Dabur Hommade Coconut Milk and simmer for 15 minutes.
    10. Add the fish sauce, tamarind juice, and cook until the oil separates, add the roasted peanuts.
    11. Then in another heavy bottomed pan add the chicken and half the barista in it and then cover the chicken with rice and add more barista on top and few pieces of lemon grass and kaffir lime leaves.
    12. Add a little Dabur Hommade Coconut Milk to keep the rice moist.
    13. Then cover the lid an open seal with atta and cook over high flame for a few minutes and then simmer it and cook for half an hour.

    Shortcut

    -> Garnish it with crushed peanuts and basil leaves to make this tastier meal look tempting and sumptuous. The unique flavor of the meal can make you hungry automatically. -> This wholesome meal has the yummy combination of rice, chicken and spices that is not only testy but healthy too.
