    1 person made this

    • For the fish
    • 1 Pomfret fish
    • Oil to shallow fry the fish
    • Flour to coat the fish
    • For marinating
    • 1 tsp Dabur Hommade Ginger Paste
    • 1 tsp Dabur Hommade Garlic Paste
    • 1tbsp Dabur Hommade Tamarind Paste
    • 1/2 tbsp ground turmeric
    • 1 tsp red chilli powder
    • Salt to taste
    • For garnish
    • Grated coconut
    • Chopped coriander leaves
    • 1 lemon (sliced into thin pieces)
    • Banana leaves (optional)

    1. Clean the fish thoroughly so as to get rid of all the impurities (ideally, the cleaning must be done as soon as the fish is brought from the market)
    2. To marinade the fish:
    3. Add 1 tsp ginger paste, 1 tsp garlic paste, 2 tbsp tamarind paste, 1/2 tbsp ground turmeric, 1 tsp red chilli powder, and salt (as per taste) in a bowl and mix everything together to make a paste
    4. Make tiny gashes/slits in the Pomfret and apply the mix all over the fish. Make sure to marinade the insides of the fish as well for it to taste delicious
    5. Keep the marinated fish for at least an hour so that the concoction seeps well inside the fish and creates the perfect flavourful blend
    6. To prepare Pomfret Fish Fry:
    7. Once the marination process is done and the fish is ready to be cooked, coat it in flour on both the sides
    8. Next, heat oil in a non-stick pan and place the fish gently in the pan
    9. Fry the fish on one side for 2-3 minutes or till it turns golden
    10. Flip it gently and repeat the same process
    11. While frying the fish, adjust the heat well so that the fish does not get overcooked, stays undercooked or burns
    12. Once the fish is cooked, take it out on a kitchen towel and allow it to soak the excess oil
    13. Now prepare a serving dish by placing a banana leaf on it
    14. Put the prepared Pomfret on top of the leaf and garnish it with grated coconut, chopped coriander leaves, and sliced lemon
    15. Serve while it’s still hot and crisp

-->You can cut the fish into smaller pieces if you want to increase the serving portion
