Sooji halwa is a very famous North Indian dessert can be prepared with in 15 minutes. Usually it is made with sooji and sugar, but I used Gur as sweetener . It gave golden yellow / golden light brown colour and nice flavour to halwa. Jaggery/Gur (unrefined sugar) is an excellent source of iron.
Optional - Add crushed pieces of almonds
Wow!, really easy to follow this recipe for Gur Ka Halwa. Usually I have trouble making the halwa look like in the picture here and also taste as good. This way of making is so simple and really easy to follow. I wouldn't even try to change anything in the recipe provided here. I am making this so often and every time it comes out yumlicious!
