Smoked Buttermilk (Masala Chaas)

    Summers are here and the best way to beat the heat is to keep sipping on refreshing and yummy buttermilk. JOOS Food- Health brings to you a buttermilk recipe with a smoky twist that is easy to make and will keep you hydrated .

    Ingredients

    • For Chaas
    • 1/2 cup curd
    • 1/4 cup mint leaves
    • 1 tbsp ginger, chopped
    • 1 tsp salt
    • 1/2 cup water
    • For Smoke
    • 1 charcoal
    • 8-10 curry leaves
    • 1 tsp green chillies, chopped
    • 1/2 tbsp oil

    Directions

    1. Grind together yogurt, mint leaves, coriander leaves, salt and ginger to a smooth paste.
    2. Add water and mix well.
    3. Place hot coal in a small steel bowl and place it in a chaas bowl. Place curry leaves, green chillies and cumin seeds over the coal and pour oil over them.
    4. Cover the large bowl with an aluminium foil and keep for 5 minutes
    5. Remove the foil, pour the chaas into serving glasses, and serve garnished with coriander leaves.
