About this recipe: My husband will prefer to cook this soup on his own with no help from me. This is an excellent comfort food when someone in the family has a cold.

Serves: 4 

  • 500 gram Chicken (boiled and shredded)
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon maida
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper powder
  • salt to taste
  • 1 small onion (chopped)
  • Chicken stock (water left over from boiling the chicken)

  1. In a heavy bottom pan, add butter and maida. Cook until maida turns light pink in color.
  2. Add onion, black pepper and salt to it. Add cold milk to it and stir it continuously so no lumps form.
  3. Add chicken stock and shreded chicken to it. Bring to a boil. Serve hot!
