Gothambu payasam (wheat dessert)

    This dessert is made with wheat, coconut milk and milk. Wheat and coconut is a seldom used combination, but those who have tasted it can't wait for more!!

    Serves: 4 

    • 3/4 cup Cracked wheat/ broken wheat
    • 3 cups Water
    • 2 cups Thick Coconut milk (first milk)
    • 1 cup Condensed milk
    • Sugar to taste
    • 2 tablespoons Ghee
    • 8-10 Cashew nut
    • 1/2 teaspoon Whole crushed cardamom
    • 6-7 Raisins

    1. Put cracked wheat and water in a pressure cooker and cook until 3 whistles.
    2. Transfer it to a deep pan and add coconut milk and let boil well.Now add condensed milk and sugar and heat another 3 minutes while stirring well. Turn off the heat.
    3. Heat ghee in a frying pan. Add cashew nut, cardamom and raisins and roast. Pour it onto the gothambu payasam.
