Mint coconut chutney

    This refreshing chutney is a good side dish with biriyani, pulao or simple steamed rice.

    Serves: 4 

    • 1 tablespoon Cooking oil
    • 1 teaspoon Mustard
    • 3 tablespoons White whole Urad dal
    • 4 dried red chilies
    • 3/4 cup Grated coconut
    • 2 cups Mint leaves
    • 1 teaspoon Tamarind paste
    • 1 cup curd
    • Salt to taste

    1. Heat oil in a frying pan, add mustard and let splutter. Now,lower the flame and add urad dal, red chili and coconut and stir for about 20 seconds. Now add mint leaves and stir 10 seconds. Turn off the heat. Let cool.
    2. Transfer it to a mixer and add tamarind paste and sour curd and salt to taste. Grind well.
    3. Refreshing Mint chutney is ready.
