    Serves: 4 

    • 6 small onions (peeled)
    • 1 tablespoon oil
    • 1/4 teaspoon kalongi (onion seed)
    • 1/4 teaspoon sauf
    • 1 teaspoon red chilli powder
    • 1/2 teaspoon amchoor powder
    • 1 teaspoon tava fry masala
    • water as needed

    1. Make one slit in the center of the onion. No need to to cut all the way through.
    2. Mix all the dry masala in a bowl and add a little water. Stir to make a thick masala paste. Fill this paste into the slits on the onions..
    3. Heat oil in a pan. Place all the onions and the leftover masala paste. Cook for 10 minutes on low heat. Serve hot with chapaati.


    I use a small fork for the filling the masala paste into the onions.
