1 small cabbage
1 tablespoon cooking oil
1 teaspoon mustard seed
4 Dried red chili torn into halves.
1 tablespoon whole white urad dal
8-10 curry leaves.
1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
salt to taste
1/2 cup grated coconut
- Cut cabbage into fine pieces.
- Heat oil in a frying pan. Add mustard seeds and let splutter. Add red chili and urad dal and roast mildly. Add curry leaves, turmeric powder and cabbage. Saute well until cabbage is cooked and tender.
- Now turn off the heat. Add salt and coconut and mix well with cabbage. Cabbage thoran is ready.
