Radish pachadi

    This is my mother's recipe. It tastes delicious and is very easy to make. It is a welcome combination with steamed rice.This dish is best when used within 4-5 hours of preparation.

    Serves: 4 

    • 1 tablespoon Cooking Oil
    • 1 teaspoon Mustard seeds
    • 1 teaspoon Urad dal
    • 1 teaspoon Chopped green chili
    • 1 teaspoon Chopped coriander leaves
    • 2 cups Fine chopped radish
    • Salt to taste
    • 3/4 cup Yougurt
    • 1/2 cup Grated Coconut

    Prep:15min  ›  Cook:10min  ›  Extra time:20min cooling  ›  Ready in:45min 

    1. Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard and let splutter. Add urad dal and roast well. Now add green chili and coriander leaves and saute' for a minute.
    2. Add radish and salt to it and let cook in a low flame while stirring now and then. When done, let cool.
    3. Beat yogurt and coconut in a mixer. Add to the cooked radish. Serve with steamed rice. (This dish cannot be preserved for long).
