About this recipe:This is a quick and simple recipe and quite healthy when made with the chicken mince. It is not spicy and is good for entertaining (who does not like meatballs?) It is good over plain white rice and left over meatballs can be used for wraps or sandwiches.
In a bowl put in minced (ground) meat. Put in 1 teaspoon garlic paste, 1/2 teaspoon of ginger paste, 1 teaspoon Garam masala, pepper, 1/2 of the corriander and mint leaves chopped up and 1 green chilli finely chopped. Add salt and mix well to combine all the ingredients. Form small 2 inch balls and set aside.
In a thick bottomed vessel put in oil or ghee and drop in the chopped onion. Fry till transparent then add the tumeric powder, the remaining 1 teaspoon of garlic paste, garam masala and the rest of the spices. Fry for a minute and then add in 1 cup of water and bring to a boil.
When the gravy boils drop in the meat balls few at a time and keep turning them so that they get cooked from all sides. If required you can add more water. When all the meat balls are in add chopped tomatoes, and 1 chopped green chilli and salt to taste.
Cover and cook till all the meatballs are done. Lastly put in the remaining chopped corriander and mint leaves and 1 teaspoon of vinegar. Serve with rice.
Use next day
The meatballs if they remain can be put in hot dog buns for sandwiches or slice them and put them in wraps.
