About this recipe:
This sweet dish is so popular in Kerala that it is made as an offering to god, for festivals, on special occassions, or otherwise just to please the taste buds.
4 cups Whole milk
1/3 cup Raw rice
Sugar to taste
1 cup Condensed milk
1/2 teaspoon Crushed whole cardamom
- Boil milk, stirring to make sure it does not stick to the bottom and as it starts boiling, add rice and simmer the heat to medium. Keep stirring constantly and let rice cook.
- Once rice is cooked, add sugar and condensed milk and stir again for 4-5 minutes.
- Turn off the heat and garnish with crushed whole cardamom. If interested, raisins and cashews can also be added.
