About this recipe: Meat Loaf is a good accompaniment for a party. It can be eaten hot or cold. It is also used to make tasty sandwiches or as stuffing for canopy cups.

Serves: 8 

  • Bacon 4 slices
  • 500 gms Minced beef
  • 2 Slices of bread
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon Pepper
  • A Pinch of Nutmeg
  • Salt To taste

  1. Make very fine pieces of bacon. Soak the bread slices and drain the liquid.
  2. In a bowl, put the bacon, the bread, eggs, pepper, salt, a pinch of nutmeg and the minced beef.
  3. Mix it all together and put into a container that fits into the cooker. Put in little water in the cooker and steam for 25 minutes after the whistle. When cooled, overturn the container and serve.


Use a fancy shaped bowl so when it is overturned the meat will take the form of the bowl.
