About this recipe: Kulkuls is a sweet made during Christmas. It is quite labor intensive so the entire family gets involved in making this sweet and the kids love to shape them. It does require a special form however like the old fashioned days you could use a new washed fine toothed comb or a fork.

Serves: 10 

  • 2 cup Flour
  • 1 cup Semolina
  • 2 Egg Yolks
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Butter
  • Oil For Deep Frying
  • Fork or brand new fine thoothed comb

  1. Mix together the flour, semolina, egg yolks, sugar, butter. Knead using coconut milk to form a stiff dough. Cover with a cloth or clingwrap and let stand for atleast 1 hour.
  2. Then form into tiny 1 inch balls. Then take the ball and flatten on the fork/comb and roll. When all are done. Deep fry in hot oil till very lightly brown.
