About this recipe: Tacos, burritos, quesadillas, this authentic Mexican salsa goes with all of your favourite Mexican dishes. The trick is to let it sit so the flavours can mix. Add extra chillies for a spicier kick!


Serves: 4 

  • 1 medium tomato, diced
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 fresh jalapeño or green chilli, seeded and chopped
  • 2 sprigs fresh coriander, finely chopped
  • 1 green onion, finely chopped
  • 1 small clove garlic, minced
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper

  1. In a medium bowl, combine all ingredients. Stir until evenly distributed. Refrigerate for 30 minutes.

Used different ingredients. For a more authentic version of salsa, follow this recipe but do not include the green onion and add juice from a whole lime or two. Lime is a key ingredient in many Mexican salsas. Enjoy! - 14 Jan 2011
