    About this recipe: Tacos, burritos, quesadillas, this authentic Mexican salsa goes with all of your favourite Mexican dishes. The trick is to let it sit so the flavours can mix. Add extra chillies for a spicier kick!

    Ingredients
    Serves: 4 

    • 1 medium tomato, diced
    • 1 onion, finely chopped
    • 1/2 fresh jalapeño or green chilli, seeded and chopped
    • 2 sprigs fresh coriander, finely chopped
    • 1 green onion, finely chopped
    • 1 small clove garlic, minced
    • 1/8 teaspoon salt
    • 1/8 teaspoon pepper

    Directions
    Prep:20min  ›  Cook:5min  ›  Ready in:25min 

    1. In a medium bowl, combine all ingredients. Stir until evenly distributed. Refrigerate for 30 minutes.

    Used different ingredients. For a more authentic version of salsa, follow this recipe but do not include the green onion and add juice from a whole lime or two. Lime is a key ingredient in many Mexican salsas. Enjoy!  -  14 Jan 2011

    This was good, but you forgot a lot of ingredients to make this great! First of all use LIME JUICE!!!! It really gives it that needed 'punch', I usually use a whole lime juiced. Also, I add some cubed up avocado, and usually I use fresh garlic instead of garlic powder.     Holy Hannah... After the changes I made, this is borderline perfection!!! I used two tomatoes (large dice), a half of a large red onion (really fine dice), one green onion (finely chopped), very little jalapeño, 3 sprigs cilantro, Low-Sodium salt, and some lime juice (didn't measure - just went to taste). I mixed it all in a colander, to drain juices. I might end up chawin' this all down before the Fiesta tomorrow!!!  -  02 May 2008  (Review from Allrecipes US | Canada)
