Soy Sesame Sauce

    Great for Vietnamese or Chinese spring rolls, grilled pork or chicken, here is my fave sauce!

    Serves: 18 

    • 250ml distilled cider vinegar
    • 250ml soy sauce
    • 125ml vegetable oil
    • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
    • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds
    • 1/2 teaspoon dried crushed chillies
    • 1 pinch ground Kashmiri Mirch or cayenne pepper

    Prep:5min  ›  Cook:15min  ›  Extra time:1hr marinating  ›  Ready in:1hr20min 

    1. In a medium bowl, whisk together vinegar, soy sauce, vegetable oil, sesame oil, toasted sesame seeds, crushed chillies and cayenne pepper. Allow the mixture to stand at room temperature 1 hour before serving.


    Try using rice vinegar for a more authentic taste.

    Overall, very good! I cut the recipe in half and used low sodium soy sauce and rice wine vinegar. Since I could tell by the recipe the amount of oil was a bit on the heavy side so I used only a Tbsp. of veg oil along with the sesame oil. I also added a pinch of brown sugar and ginger.
