Aloo Methi Parathas

    This is a simple paratha to make and tastes delicious !

    Makes: 9 

    • 2 cups wheat flour
    • 1 cup water
    • 2 potatoes
    • 1 cup methi leaves
    • 1 inch ginger
    • 1 onion (small) finely chopped
    • 1 tsp red chili powder
    • vegetable oil

    1. Boil the potatoes in a pressure cooker for 10 minutes.
    2. While the potstoes are boiling, knead the wheat flour with water and salt and roll them into 9 medium sized balls and set aside.
    3. Mash the potatoes, add onions, methi leaves, ginger , salt and red chili powder and form 9 medium sized balls.
    4. Place white flour in a bowl and gently dip the wheat flour ball in it and flatten it a little with a rolling pin.
    5. Place the potatoe and methi ball on the flattened wheat flour ball and close it like a pocket and make it into a ball.
    6. Dip it in lightly in the white flour and flatten it slowly with a rolling pin.
    7. Heat a frying pan for 1 min and place the paratha on it and cook it for 1 min on each side. After both sides are cooked fry it with 12 drops of oil on each side.
    8. Place a dab of butter on it and serve with yoghurt and pickle,

    Serving suggestion

    You can make the parathas ahead of time and fry them in oil right before serving.
