Inspired by the famous Spanish cold soup, this is a great pasta salad for summer picnics or easy dinners. It's colourful and tangy with its lime-tomato dressing and hari mirchi.

I like this elegant ginger-y scallop dish when I have little time and guests to impress. Serve with rice or crusty bread and a leafy salad.

This dish's great ginger flavour can be tweaked mild or strong. Works well with paneer/tofu over steamed rice.

This garlic mayonnaise is cooked by grandmothers and mothers in Provence for their families and is excellent with fish. Vary the flavour by using olive oils from Greece, France or Italy. Ensure you serve it fresh - do not store for more than a few hours.

It's very rich so a little goes a long way. I hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

Italians don't always cook their sauces. Here's an uncooked sauce made with fresh garden tomatoes. Just toss with pasta and a simple dinner is ready.

These soft french beans are a great addition to veg dishes and meat platters alike. Only use the most tender, baby French beans for this dish.

Sautéed red capsicum and almonds with freshly cooked pasta make for a great, light lunch in summer. Kids esp. love this dish!

This no cook, cold, garlicky soup is ready in just 30 minutes. Great with herb bread for a hot summer eve snack sitting under the stars.

Potatoes and okra cooked in a tamatari masala, great with chapati, naan or paratha.

This is a classic Punjabi sabji. I have eaten aloo gobhi in many homes and restaurants, and like most homey dishes, I have never eaten two versions that taste the same. This is my recipe for making aloo gobhi.

Yummy aloo cooked with cumin, turmeric and masale. Great on its own or with fresh, hot chapati and raita.

Found in every home in Bombay, this spicy aloo dish is made quickly and is always delish. Pour chutney of choice on top for a tangy touch.

Kormas are made with whole spices and are known for their richness and warmth. This is a delicious potato korma that goes very well with parathas or puris.

This is common and popular breakfast item in our family and goes well with parantha or luchi i.e. bengali version of puri. My mom used to make elaborate preparation for our school lunches. Luchi with aloo kumror chechki was always a hot favorite of my friends. Obviously mom had to pack some extra food so that my friends would not be deprived of their favorite. Try this for a weekend breakfast.

This is a quick fix I make for my daughter when she goes away to college.

I absolutely love this dish! It reminds me of fresh methi that used to grow in my garden in Allahabad! The aroma of this dish makes me nostalgic and homesick!

This is one of my favorite dry sabjis. If you like Aloo Methi, then you’ll love this dish. Goes great with parathas.

Originally a dish from Punjab, but I don’t know of anyone who does not make or like Aloo paratha. The recipe varies from house to house, but this is the way my mother makes it. I hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

Parwal curry is a very common everyday item on a bengali menu. This can be eaten with rice or chapati. There are of course many ways to make it. This is the way it was cooked in our family.
