Parwal curry is a very common everyday item on a bengali menu. This can be eaten with rice or chapati. There are of course many ways to make it. This is the way it was cooked in our family.

Mix olive oil and mustard and you get this simple, wonderful vinaigrette. It can be mixed specially for a salad or it can be made in a larger quantity, to use as required – it will keep in the fridge for several weeks. If made ahead, store it in a screw-top jar and shake well just before using.

When I was a kid in Amsterdam, this is the one my Dutch neighbors used to make for Christmas and New Year's Eve.

This snack along with hot tea is a hot favourite during rainy seasons. I have brunched on it many a times during college days. It was the most in-demand snack of our college canteen. If you like potatoes, you will only be asking for more Bonda.

Calimocho originated in the Basque region of Spain but has spread throughout the entire country and to many other parts of the world. Coca-Cola is the 'authentic' partner for preparing calimocho.

A wholesome breakfast that is tasty too!! Can be eaten as is and doesn't need any chutney to go with. Saves the fermentation time unlike the regular idlis.
