Great for monsoons, this is a traditional moist, densely textured cake that matures and develops over time. It will last really well for up to two weeks. Great with a cuppa coffee.

This is common and popular breakfast item in our family and goes well with parantha or luchi i.e. bengali version of puri. My mom used to make elaborate preparation for our school lunches. Luchi with aloo kumror chechki was always a hot favorite of my friends. Obviously mom had to pack some extra food so that my friends would not be deprived of their favorite. Try this for a weekend breakfast.

This is a very popular and flexible dish in Bengal as it could be eaten at breakfast with luchi/poori, or with pulao or rice at dinner or lunch. It can be cooked in many different ways and this is the way I make it when I want it for breakfast to go with loochi /poori or parantha.

This is the famous stuffed potato cutlet that you get at chaat haunts in Punjab. Good for a snack or as a meal with white chane, I can eat it any time of the day with Imli or Pudina chutney.

A nice and easy American classic that generations of kids have loved for lunch and dinner. Also good if you add some chopped ham or other meat of your choice.

Now, here's a dish your humble 'kaddu' didn't foresee happening! Mashed pumpkin seasoned with ginger, dalchini and adrak, baked into the classic 'all American' pie. A great dish for autumn with hazelnut coffee!

These no bake 'cakes' are fantastic served with jam, apple sauce or honey. Best of all, they're quick to make and low in fat! Makes a great breakfast in bed for mother's day!

This is our favourite sweet dish during the winter months. The almonds give warmth to the body as well as strength to fight the extreme cold.

Here's a great pizza, a diversion from the usual tomato marinara for your next party. Also impressive when you want to make an exotic dinner for someone special.

This is an innovative recipe of mine. Generally everyone throws away cauliflower stems but they are the main ingredient here. And when my family members and friends tasted it they were so much amazed! It became their favourite. It is not very spicy and tastes excellent with rice, dosa and upma.

This tasty pizza includes a variety of toppings to suit every taste. It is easy and fun to make. Serve with a big salad, full of spinach, tomato, onions, cheese, cabbage and other leafy greens.

Crispy outside and tender inside, these golden bites are irresistible. Adding bacon, onion and green capsicum adds a twist to the classic recipe.

Here's a great summer pasta salad for any time munching. Corkscrew pasta is boiled, then tossed with capsicums, limes, mirchi, tomato and chilled for two hours. Also makes a great appetizer for a dinner party.

This cake is simple enough to eat with a cuppa tea, yet good enough to serve for a special occasion. It's one of my family's favourites.

Good things come to those who wait. This recipe isn't the quickest but worth it! It makes plenty so you can give away as gifts with good coffee beans.

Coffee in one hand and a decadent, melt in your mouth, warm muffin rolled in cinnamon sugar in the other. Ahhh!
