About this recipe: Jambakka(aka Wax Apple or Love Apple)( a fruit which is usually available during the summer season),cooked with coconut paste and curd.

Serves: 4 

  • 1/2kg Jambakka
  • 1/4tsp Salt
  • 1/2cup Grated Coconut
  • 3nos Green Chillies
  • 2nos Button Onion
  • 1tsp Mustard Seeds
  • Small Pinch Jeera
  • 1tbsp Coconut Oil
  • 3/4tbsp Mustard Seeds(to be added Once Again)
  • 3nos Whole Red Chillie
  • 3nos Button Onion(to be added Once Again)
  • 3/4cup Curd
  • To Taste Salt(to be added Once Again)
  • 10nos Curry Leaves

  1. Cut Jambakkas into bite size cubes.Add salt and cook till tender in a bowl.
  2. Grind the grated coconut into a fine paste.Crush Mustard Seeds,Jeera,Green Chillie and Button Onion.Add this paste to the 1/4th cooked Jambakka.Let it cook for 5minutes by closing the lid.Add beaten curd and cook for a few minutes.
  3. In a pan,pour oil and add Whole red Chillie and Mustard Seed and let it crackle.Now add 3 button onions,cut small.Let it turn red in colour .Noww add Curry Leaves and garnish the Pachaddi!Serve with par Boiled Rice.:D
