Foli Fish Fry

    This is a simple recipe for crunchy, crispy and spicy fried foli fish. It can be served by itself, or with plain rice.

    Serves: 5 

    • 250 g of foli fish e
    • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
    • 4 tablespoons of corn flour
    • Salt as needed
    • 1/2 teaspoon of ginger paste
    • Just a pinch of garlic paste
    • 1/2 teaspoon of cumin paste ( untoasted cumin seeds)
    • 2 tablespoons of postodana (pistachio)

    1. Cover the foli fishes with salt and turmeric powder. Mix well and set aside.
    2. Add the corn flour, salt, ginger, garlic and cumin pastes to a bowl. Stir and make a paste.
    3. Now dip each of the fishes in the paste and sprinkle the postodanas ( pistachio) on to the fishes covered with the spice paste.
    4. Heat a deep frying pan with oil so that the fishes can be submerged well for deep frying. The fishes will be cooked when they turn golden brown.
    5. Serve hot and crunchy foli fish fry.
