Kalo Jeera Bhorta (Black cumin mash)

    Black cumin seeds are considered to be very healthy, especially for those who have asthma or other inflammatory diseases. This recipe for a mash is a great way to help anyone to have his/her regular intake of black cumin.

    • 50 g of black cumin
    • 3-4 dry red chilies
    • 1 tablespoon of garlic slices
    • salt as needed
    • 1/2 teaspoon of onion slices


    1. Heat a tawa and toast the black cumin seeds. Also toast the dry red chilies and garlic slices.
    2. Put the toasted ingredients on a sheel pata and grind them to make a powdery mixture.
    3. Mix salt and onion slices with hand.
    4. Serve with plain white rice.
