About this recipe:
Naan roti is a kind of bread that can be found in any part of the Indian subcontinent. The best naan is made on earth stove, but you can also make really good naan roti using a baking oven. Serve with curries, kababs or halwas.
2 cups of flour
salt as needed
1/2 teaspoon of baking powder
1/2 teaspoon of food soda
2 tablespoons of soybean oil
1/2 cup of milk
1 tablespoon of sugar
1/2 cup of Greek yoghurt or tok doi
a pinch of kali jeera ( black cumin)
Mix the flour with salt, baking powder, food soda, and soybean oil.
Also the crack the egg and mix.
In a separate bowl, mix the milk with sugar. Add this mixture to the flour mixture. Also mix in the yoghurt. Mix well to make dough.
Set the dough in a hot place, possibly by a stove for 3-4 hours.
Kneed the dough again, with a bit of oil (if needed) and set aside for a while.
Sprinkle the black cumin and work on the dough.
Make small balls out of the dough.
Roll each ball out as a tortilla.
Grease a baking tray.
Bake the tortillas, one at a time, 10-15 minutes at 160 degree Celsius.
