About this recipe:
Chocolate shondesh (sandesh) is a new form of sandesh as traditionally sandesh were usually made from chana only. It is usually made during religious ceremonies and decorated in a pattern on the serving plate.
250 g of chana
100 g of sugar
½ cup of powdered sugar
1 tablespoon of coco powder
2 drops of vanilla essence
Filter the water from the chana.
Mix the chana with sugar.
Heat a pan and add the chana and sugar mixture.
Stir continuously on low heat for a few minutes, and remove the pan from the heat.
Let the pan sit for a few more minutes.
Then put it back on heat by mixing in the vanilla essence.
Stir continuously on low heat so that the water from the chana dries up.
Put the lid on and remove the pan from heat. Let is rest for a few minutes.
Add the powdered milk to the mixture and mix well. Also mix in the coco powder.
Now make diamond of triangular shaped “shondesh” or “sandesh”.
