Savoury oats dosa

    The credit for this recipe entirely goes to my friend deepti.. Thanks a ton dee for introducing me to this lovely dosa. Easy to make and very healthy option for breakfast or evening snacks. Minimum time and effort taken to make this lovely pancakes ( dosa). Use imagination and be as creative as possible.

    • 2 cups plain oats ( i used quaker)
    • half cup of curry flavoured oats ( optional) any other spicy flavour can also be used
    • 1 medium sized capsicum finely chopped
    • 1 medium sized onion finely chopped
    • 1 medium sized tomato finely chopped
    • 1 inch ginger
    • 1/4 cup of coriander chopped
    • few leaves of mint
    • 1-2 green chillies
    • 1-2 tspn of garam masala
    • 1-2 tspn of coriander powder
    • 1 tspn of tumeric powder
    • 1 tspn of chilly powder or more as per taste
    • sugar a pinch
    • salt as per taste
    • few tspn of oil
    • water to make batter


    1. Take both plain and flavoured oats and grind in mixie to powder it.
    2. Now grind together coriander, green chillies, mint leaves, ginger.
    3. In a large mixing bowl take the ground oats and add water and mix throughly to get a thick batter
    4. Now to this add the ground paste ( step 2) and mix throughly
    5. Now add garam masala, coriander powder, chilly powder , a pinch of sugar and salt as per taste and mix throughly.
    6. Add the finely chopped vegetables ( capsicum, onions, tomatoes) and mix. Add water if required.
    7. Batter consistency should be pouring sort ( idly batter consistency)
    8. Pour the batter on a hot girdle and let it roast till brown on both sides adding oil on both sides.
    9. Serve hot with chutney or ketchup.
