About this recipe: This is a mild curry of potatoes and peas along with bites of tomatoes and grated coconut. The tastes of each of the vegetables complement each other very well. Enjoy it with hot steamed rice or chapati.

Serves: 3 

  • 1 cup peas
  • 1 cup peeled potatoes
  • 2 tablespoons chopped onions
  • 2 tablespoons chopped tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons grated coconut
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 2 teaspoons red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon haldi powder
  • 2 teaspoons garam masala powder
  • salt as needed
  • 2 tablespoons water

  1. Steam peas and potatoes together.
  2. Grind onions, tomatoes and grated coconut together with some water.
  3. Heat oil in a pan, add cumin seeds, onions, tomato and coconut paste. Stir and fry until brown.
  4. Now add red chili powder, haldi and garam masala powders, salt and mix well. Add the water and allow the mixture to boil.
  5. Mix in the steamed peas and potatoes.
