About this recipe:
Masur Aamti is a daal made of red lentils. Tomatoes used bring in added color and taste as well. Serve with steaming plain rice and pickles.
2 cups red masur dal
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
2 tablespoons chopped onions
2 tablespoons chopped tomatoes
1 teaspoon 1 teaspoon haldi powder
2 teaspoons red chilly powder
2 teaspoons garam masala powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon sugar
- Boil masur dal in a pressure cooker for 20 minutes.
- Heat a pan with oil. Sprinkle the cumin seeds on it and then stir fry onions and tomatoes in it.
- Then sprinkle the haldi, red chili and garam masala powders, salt and sugar and mix all the ingredients together.
- Now add the boiled masur dal to the and stir fry for 5 minutes.
