    Cluster beans or Gawar Bhaji is a common every day dish in Maharashtra. It is slightly spicy and has the added crunch of toasted peanuts. Serve with plain rice or chapattis.

    Serves: 4 

    • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
    • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
    • 2 tablespoons chopped onions
    • 2 teaspoons red chili powder
    • 1 teaspoon haldi powder
    • 4 cups gawar or cluster beans
    • 2 tablespoons roasted and crushed peanuts
    • Water as needed
    • Salt as needed
    • 1 tablespoon chopped coriander leaves

    1. Heat a pan with oil. Add cumin seeds and onions. Stir and fry for a bit. Add red chili and haldi powders. Stir and mix.
    2. Now add the gawar and crushed peanuts. Mix well.
    3. Add little water (according to the preference of the thickness of the gravy) and salt. Cook until the beans become soft and cooked.
