Bhindi ki subji

    This is an okra based simple dish. Serve with chapattis.

    Serves: 4 

    • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
    • 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
    • 1 teaspoon asafoetida
    • 1 onion, chopped
    • 2-3 green chillies, chopped
    • 6-7 okras, split along the length
    • Salt as needed

    1. Heat a frying pan with oil. Add mustard seeds and asafoetida.
    2. Add onions, stir and fry until the onions turn pink.
    3. Then add chopped green chillies.Mix.
    4. Add bhindi and salt. Stir and put the lid on. Cook on low heat until the bhindi turns tender and soft, and the spices have mixed well.
