JIBA GOJA,crispy munchy traditional snacks prepare in bengali household during durga puja & dashami.I have prepared 15 goja's within 30 minutes from 200gm refined flour.Simple recipe but lip smaking taste.Indeed Festival special.

    • Refined flour -200gm or 1 cup heaped.
    • White oil to leaven -3tsp
    • White Oil to deep fry-50ml
    • salt-1/4
    • sugar-1/4
    • Baking soda-a pinchfull
    • Sugar for Sugar Syrup-75gm
    • Water for Sugar Syrup-1/2 cup


    1. Mix well refined flour ,salt,sugar,baking soda in a bowl.
    2. Add 3 tsp white oil with this mixture to leaven.
    3. Gradually add water in the bowl to bring it in dough form.Dough must be kneaded properly.
    4. Now 15 lump ( lachi) of dough has to be rolled in a shape of our tounge or jib as known in bengali.And than its deep fried in a wide mothed flat bottomed kadai.
    5. When your frying goja remember to cook on low to medium heat.Turn goja's when it starts to colour slightly.When both sides are done drain the excess oil & store in a bowl or serving plate.
    6. Now its time to prepare sugar syrup.Put the frying Pan in flame add sugar & water accordingly.Stir it well & let the sugar dissolve in water.
    7. When the solution is concentrated & its forming string a with the spatula.Add deep fried jiba gojas in it.Mix the gojas well in syrup & it be dry on the oven in low flame.Turn the oven & place the gojas in serving dish.
    8. Bring gojas in room temp. & you can feel its crispy munchy taste in bites.


    Festival Special. Serving-15 Time-30minute Preparation time-15 cooking time-15 You can store gojas in a airtight container for a week.
