Mushoor Methi Saag

Methi saag (Fenugreek leaves) is quite different in taste. Its taste is near to the taste of mustard leaves . People like to cook it with potatoes to reduce its bitter taste . Here I am giving an easy recipe with lentil which is really very delicious.

    • Methi saag 4 bunches / 2cups( if you get them in can )
    • 1/2 cup of lentil ( clean and soak it in water for half an hour )

    • 1 medium onion chopped
    • 3 Green chillies ( cut them in the middle )

    1. If you buy the saag in bunches then separate the leaves from the stem and leave the stem . Wash the leaves properly.
    2. In a frypan pour 2 table spoon of oil and put the chopped onions and fry it in medium flame on stove for 2 minutes . When the onion is soft put the chopped garlic and green chillies in it . When the garlic is light brown , then put the turmeric powder and stir for a while. Add the methi saag leaves and soaked lentil in it.mix the whole thing properly and fry them for 3/4 minutes. Then add 1 cup of water in it and put the lid on. After 15 minutes check the saag and lentil,if the leaves are cooked and the lentil is soft and mashed , dry the extra water. Your methi saag is ready to serve. Take it in a dish and serve with rice or chapati .
