Shahi baby potato

    Baby potatoes tossed and cooked in shahi style. It is a mouth watering dish spicey and a littile swèet, can be served with any kind of parathas. Puris , and plain rice.

    • Baby potato - 500gms
    • Onion - 3 medium size sliced
    • Ginger-garlc paste - 2tbsp full
    • Green chilly chopped - 6to7 pieces
    • Turmeric powder -1 tsp
    • Cumin powder -1tsp
    • Coriender powder- 2tsp
    • Kashmiri red chilly powder _ 11/2 tsp
    • Chilly powder -1tsp
    • Nutmeg powder- 1/2 tsp
    • Mace powder -1/2 tspn
    • Clove powder -1/4 tsp
    • Garam masala powder - 2tsp
    • Cumin seeds- 1/2 rsp
    • Bay leaf
    • Whole spices (cinamon stick, cardamom pods, cloves)
    • Shahi jera 1/2 tsp
    • Curd 3 tbs
    • Any refined oil
    • Ghee 3tbsp
    • Sugar and salt


    1. Boil the potatos upto medium cooked
    2. Remove them from heat , drain the water and peel the potatatoes
    3. Mix the potatoes with littile bit of turmeric powder and salt.
    4. Heat oul in a pan and add the potatoes.shallow fry the potatoes.and take it out and keep aside.
    5. Now in the same pan add more oil and half amt of ghee you taken.add cumin seeds and bay leaf and the whole garam masala.
    6. Wait for the aroma comes.and add the sliced.
    7. As the onion becomes golden add littile sugar and the chopped the green chillies.
    8. Add the ginger galic paste.add thee powderd masala along with salt and sugar
    9. Add the potato and cook them for a while.add a cup of water and cover with a lid.
    10. Check it if the water becomes littile dry and potatoes are full cooked and and make the heat at low flame.remove the lid.
    11. Heat another pan add remaining ghee and add shahi jeera, salt,sugar, garam masala powde.
    12. Pour the entire porpotato preparition into the another pan. And cook for some toime.
    13. Now beat the curd and add to the pan.
    14. Mix it well.once it is done cover it for 2-3mns.andpour it into a container.
    15. If you wish you can garnish with beaten caurd.l


    If you are adding sugar in the oil or ghe it will enhance the colour of the preparation. Moe over you should a littile amt of sugar with the other spices as chillies and clove powder are very spicey. More over curd will be sour.
