Black Eye Beans - Chowlai Punjabi Curry

    • 2 cups Chowlai
    • 1 1/2 tsp salt
    • 1 1/2 tsp coriander (dhania) powder
    • 3/4 tsp mustard seeds
    • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)
    • 2 tbsp oil
    • 1 small onion
    • 2 large cloves garlic
    • 1 medium tomato
    • 3/4 piece of ginger
    • 2 green chillies, minutely sliced


    1. Soak beans overnight in water Drain the water In a cooker,put oil,mustard seeds,ginger-garlic paste,onion,tomato,green chillies
    2. Add turmeric & red chilli powder, corriander powder Stir them all Add water Close the lid of the cooker let cooker whistle upto 4 whistles until beans are just tender
    3. Place in a bowl by garnishing with coriander leaves,the receipe is ready to be served.
