- 375g plain flour
- 375g castor sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons bicarbonate of soda
- 45g cocoa powder
- 180ml vegetable oil
- 2 tablespoons vinegar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 500ml cold water
Directions
Prep:10min › Cook:30min › Ready in:40min
- Sift flour, sugar, salt, bicarb and cocoa together into a 20x30cm ungreased cake tin. Make three wells. Pour oil into one well, vinegar into second, and vanilla into third well. Pour cold water over all, and stir well with fork.
- Bake at 180 C for 30 to 40 minutes, or until skewer inserted comes out clean. Ice with your favourite icing.
