Delish Cinnamon Bananas

    This is a decadent dessert that you make by sprinkling pieces of bananas with lemon juice and rolling them in brown sugar and cinnamon. Serve with vanilla ice cream. You can either BBQ them or cook them in a frying pan with melted butter. Yummy!

    Ingredients
    Serves: 4 

    • 4 bananas
    • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
    • 175g dark brown soft sugar
    • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
    • vanilla ice cream, to serve

    Directions

    1. Heat your frying pan or stove top grill pan with some oil. If BBQing, preheat barbecue for low heat.
    2. Halve each of the bananas lengthwise, then widthwise. Sprinkle bananas with lemon juice. In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar and cinnamon. Roll banana pieces in sugar/cinnamon mixture until well coated.
    3. Lightly oil the pan or barbecue's cooking grate, whichever you're using. Arrange bananas on grate, and cook for 3 minutes per side. Serve in a bowl with a scoop of vanilla ice cream topped with a sprinkling of remaining cinnamon/sugar mixture.

    I made this recipe on a recent camping trip. The only change I made was to put the bananas in a foil packet on the grill instead of directly on the grate (campsite fire-ring grate was pretty nasty looking). The bananas were done perfectly, and by putting it in a foil pack, we had all the wonderful juices to use as a syrup over ice cream. Even better, the few leftovers that were remaining, we used as a fruit topping to the "Baked French Toast" casserole (also on allrecipes)the next morning. Delicious.
