Inspired by the famous Spanish cold soup, this is a great pasta salad for summer picnics or easy dinners. It's colourful and tangy with its lime-tomato dressing and hari mirchi.

Great for monsoons, this is a traditional moist, densely textured cake that matures and develops over time. It will last really well for up to two weeks. Great with a cuppa coffee.

This is a very popular and flexible dish in Bengal as it could be eaten at breakfast with luchi/poori, or with pulao or rice at dinner or lunch. It can be cooked in many different ways and this is the way I make it when I want it for breakfast to go with loochi /poori or parantha.

This is the famous stuffed potato cutlet that you get at chaat haunts in Punjab. Good for a snack or as a meal with white chane, I can eat it any time of the day with Imli or Pudina chutney.

A nice and easy American classic that generations of kids have loved for lunch and dinner. Also good if you add some chopped ham or other meat of your choice.

Making sushi doesn't have to be complicated. You just need to practice a little bit. These basic sushi rolls can be filled with any ingredients you choose. Try it with smoked salmon, crab meat, tuna - and the list goes on! Serve with soy sauce and wasabi.

Here's a great pizza, a diversion from the usual tomato marinara for your next party. Also impressive when you want to make an exotic dinner for someone special.

I added a twist to my recipe and included coconut. My family loves these. And they're easy to make.

Rich and nutty, these chocolate muffins are great as breakfast or tea time snack. Pull up a chair in the veranda and watch the rain come down with these in one hand and a cuppa chai in the other.

This tasty pizza includes a variety of toppings to suit every taste. It is easy and fun to make. Serve with a big salad, full of spinach, tomato, onions, cheese, cabbage and other leafy greens.

This cake is simple enough to eat with a cuppa tea, yet good enough to serve for a special occasion. It's one of my family's favourites.

Good things come to those who wait. This recipe isn't the quickest but worth it! It makes plenty so you can give away as gifts with good coffee beans.

Coffee in one hand and a decadent, melt in your mouth, warm muffin rolled in cinnamon sugar in the other. Ahhh!

It takes only 5 ingredients to make this fabulously creamy ice cream. Before freezing, you can also add crushed biscuits, nuts, chocolate chips, coconut or any other of your favourites!

This Baklava recipe uses the same kind of filo pastry that's used for 'veggie or goat puffs'. It looks like samosa dough but it's crispy, light and flaky- the perfect texture for this rich, honey soaked, nut sprinkled, wildly popular middle eastern dish. It crackles as you bite but almost instantly, it just melts in your mouth.

One of the courtly dishes of the Mughals, do-piaza combines onions and tomatoes with Eastern spices as a foil for rich duck. Try serving with plain boiled long-grain rice or Chilli Chapattis (on website).

Straight out of a gourmet Italian pizzeria, here's a great recipe for an unusual, super delicious veggie pizza. Add any kind of cooked meat on top, if you wish.

Simply shake strawberries, sugar and cream into soft ice cream that's healthy, ready in 10 minutes and fun to make. A great family activity with a sweet reward at the end. You may use plastic cans or resealable plastic bags.
